In the beginning
The girls are right. I see no wolf hybrid. I would suspect a Black Sable German Shepherd. Here is a link to one that is very similar. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_P2IPQuXY8lo/TPZJXYzdKaI/AAAAAAAAAFU/c7SFNiCHuo0/s1600/IMG_2267.JPG
I agree with Jene. We bred imported (Austria) GSD’s back in the 60’s and early 70’s, and there is absolutely not a drop of wolf blood in Tenzing. Doesn’t make him anything but a lost soul I hope you find, one way or the other!
A side note from a very long time German Shepherd owner, trainer, handler, breeder
Who ever told you the dog was a wolf hybrid or even part wolf is either lying or mistaken. This dog is 100% black sable German Shepherd which is just a color variety of a German Shepherd. He does not have the skull structure, the shoulder, topline, or hip angulation of a wolf, does not have any characteristics whatsoever of a wolf. That may or may not be important to you, but it may change how he is considered as legal or not legal to own. Many people claim wolf lineage in their pets but most are just not at all wolf in any way.
I would be asking the new owners exactly where and how his body was disposed of, make them show you the burial site or the organization where they took his body for disposal or burial. Beyond that, I have no comment as its hard to know in this kind of situation, just what transpired.
Saw your post on CL in the Greensboro NC Area-think it was Charlotte. Your missing dog is beautiful. I have a bicolor GSD that is very dark. I hope you find him. Can you give any info about when and where. I don’t think I saw it anywhere.
